Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Father God, as we enter a new calendar year, we pray for strength and wisdom to abandon old habits and ways of thinking that do not honor You. There are things we should not carry into the new year, so as to make room for the new things You are doing in our lives. Lord, we want to be changed. We want to achieve Your purposes for our lives and impact the world for the sake of Your Great Name. In this world where everyone aspires to be an “influencer,” we want to show them Jesus.
Lord, we begin our transformation process when we accept Jesus as our Savior. And we continue to grow as Your witnesses by surrendering to Your will and way in all that we do; yielding to the work of the Holy Spirit who resides in our hearts. We continue to be transformed by renewing our minds according to the Truth of Your Holy Word. Lord, it’s in the pages of scripture that You provide a compass when we can’t find our way; Light when it seems darkness is all around; encouragement when it seems all hope is gone; and strength to stand when the winds of adversity blow without ceasing. Master, there is power, purpose and provision in Your holy and infallible Word.
Holy God, You’ve given us The Bible to know You better; and to know how we should live before You. We pray for more zeal, determination and commitment to read and study Your Word daily. Please guide us in Your Words of Truth, and teach us; for You are our God. You are the One and Only, True and Living God. Lord, our hope is in You all day long. We surrender. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen.
