Today's Devotional

Luke 6:32, 35 &36 32 But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them…35. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. 36 Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful Father God, you sent Your Only Begotten Son to die for our salvation, in order to free us from the shackles of sin. Lord, You have forgiven us and continue to bless and forgive us over and over again. Holy God, Your Word assures us that You are faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, if we earnestly confess them to You, (1John 1:9). Yet, we who are forgiven, fail to extend the same to others. Lord, having been forgiven and set free from the bondage of sin, we have every incentive to extend unconditional kindness to someone else. You give life when we deserve death, mercy when we deserve punishment and grace when judgment should represent the order of our days. Today we pray that we gain spiritual strength and faith to forgive, even the unforgivable. And we pray for your guidance in drawing us ever closer to You and making us more like Jesus. Master, many of us need to release anger and bitterness that have taken up space in our minds and souls for a long time. Some individuals hurt us recently and some harmed us years ago, and we refuse to release the anger. Some offenders are no longer alive, and we still won’t let the offense go. Lord please heal our brokenness. May we forgive as we are forgiven. And may we walk obediently before You. Lord, please let it be so. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks, amen.
