No Greater Love
John 15:12-13: 12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. .
Lord Jesus, we are thankful for the ultimate sacrifice you made on Calvary's Cross, which allows us to have everlasting fellowship with You. You are our God; The Sovereign One who is ruler over all. You are high and lifted up. Yet, You are faithful and true to us; investing in every aspect of our lives. Lord, Your love is unending, your promises are without variation and You are our Savior through all eternity. Yes, You prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that You are our friend.
Master, because we are Your friends, we should obey You in love. Our obedience isn’t because we desire anything from You; not to gain a certain standing in Your eyes; and certainly not to impress others. Our obedience isn’t out of duty, ritual or obligation. Wonderful Savior, we submit to You because we love You. And we love You because You first loved us. Your perfect love for us casts out our fear of Your judgment; Your condemnation; and Your rejection. Lord, You bore our sins on Calvary’s Cross. And now we stand in Your love - not Your condemnation.
Thank You Jesus for providing the pathway to Your heart and giving us this vehicle called “prayer” to maintain constant contact. Merciful God, having You as our Shepherd means we are wanted, loved and cared for through time and eternity. It means we have eternal security with a future and hope that will never end. It means surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives.
And nothing will ever separate us from Your love. Jesus, You are our Everlasting God and we are Your friends forever. Today and every day we worship You because You are worthy; because our hearts want to please You; and because there is no friend like You. Hallelujah. Thank You Jesus. There is none like You. In Your Precious Name we pray and give thanks. Amen.
