John 14: 5-6 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Lord God, before the dawning of the ages You saw us and planned for our lives. Not one of us was an afterthought. You ordered the events of our days to reflect Your perfect will and divine prerogative. And though Your plan is always best, You give us free Will to choose the course we follow. Father God, when we are wise, we spend our days seeking You. We search and strive to have Your mind regarding the steps we should take; the choices we should make; and the things we should avoid. With minds seeking Your truth, we begin desiring what You want for us; long for what You prepared for us and we remain content with Your provisions. Gracious God, when we are foolish, we want what others have. Our primary focus becomes gaining power, prestige and prosperity. We seek control and don’t mind hurting others to acquire it. We become political; creating factions and confusion in our pursuit of our self-centered desires. We lose awareness that no amount of dominance, status, or property will ever be enough. Lord have mercy on us when and if we find ourselves in that state. Today and every day we rejoice in You, the God of our salvation. And we find liberty and peace in aligning our hearts with You; the One True and Living God. Lord, thank You for sending Jesus; the perfect model for divine obedience, love, wisdom and grace. And thank You for the Holy Spirit who empowers us to become all You created us to be. Please sanctify us according to your divine will; and use our lives to honor and glorify Your Great Name. We love You Lord. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen. |
