Psalm 3:3. But You, O Lord, are a shield for me. My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
Today we continue crying out to You, the Living God, with thanksgiving and praise. Thank You, Lord, for saving our souls. And thank You for continually guiding us so we may live acceptably before You. Thank You for the hope of glory that belongs to us and to all who look forward to Your coming. Our eternal security is safe in Your hands.
Lord, there are days when it seems that our problems are endless—family members are suffering, workplace concerns become excessive, and our health reports are anything but good. It seems that our emotional and spiritual strength is being siphoned like water from a well, sometimes leaving little in reserve.
But God, in the midst of it all—as we recall Your goodness, as we reflect on Your grace and mercy and the many great things You provide for us—our hearts and minds find rest and peace. When we fall down in prayer and seek You in the Scriptures, hope, joy, and contentment supplant the anxiety and despondency that try to take root.
Lord, sometimes our situations don’t change, but You strengthen our hearts, change our minds, and give us fresh perspectives of hope and determination to move forward. We stop dwelling on how big our problems are and begin focusing on how big our God is. We lay hold of Your promises and are reminded that we can make it through every storm, climb every mountain, and that we are never alone. We feel Your presence and the protection only You can provide. Lord, we know that no weapon formed against us will prosper. Thank You, Jesus.
This morning we choose to dwell on Your goodness, rest in Your peace, and bask in the sunshine of Your love. The problems may still be there, but we know that in Christ Jesus, victory is surely ours. And we trust You to make our path straight. Thank You, Jesus. In Your Name we pray and give thanks. Amen.
