Who Has Tomorrow?

Psalm 90:12-15

12  So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. 13 Return, O Lord! How long? And have compassion on Your servants. 14  Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days! 15  Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, The years in which we have seen evil

Father God, You are sovereign and You alone control all events in time through eternity. Direct us, we pray, to give You our “prime time” as opposed to rendering moments that are “left over.”  Lord, please prevent us from just trying to fit You in.  Instead, let us make You the primary focus of our attention and our priority consideration in all things. Help us to study Your Word with diligence; fervently offer effectual prayers of faith; faithfully serve those in need; and regularly assemble with other saints for the purpose of Christian fellowship, ministry and worship.

Lord, we ask You to forgive us for neglecting Bible study; only praying when we are too tired to pay attention to what we are saying; and neglecting to attend church as we should.  Please forgive us for not giving You our time.  Master, You are the One who formed us and fashioned the plans for our lives. You are the One who bestows the gift of time; waking us day after day to Your new mercies and the abundance of Your grace. Please discipline us to manage that which You give with wisdom and humility.  Let us surrender each day to You; draw closer to You; and abide in Your arms of loving care.

Holy God, please grant us grace to give back to You a portion of all that You give to us; beginning with our time.  We can’t say we love You with our entire heart if we give You no time; we’d be liars and frauds. Teach us, oh God, to honor You with the first fruit of our day; seek You first - before all things; and surrender our hopes and dreams for Your divine design and use. Holy God, to you we yield our time. We are safe in Your hands. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen.
