Matthew 16:18 I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Heavenly Father, no matter what we experience, witness or believe; Your plans for Your people will prevail and extend far beyond today. Regardless of how dire our circumstances, how deep our pain and how abysmal our failures; You rule the winds and waves in our stormy lives. Moreover, You still have great purpose for us. As long as You provide us breath, we maintain reason to sustain hope for more radiant days ahead. And we are certain the gates of hell shall not prevail against Your people.
Father God, we confess our circumstances seem severe; the news isn’t always pleasant and sometimes it is challenging for us to process it all. When anxiety, fear and doubt creep into our hearts and minds, please remind us that our lives are not spinning out of control; we are secure in Your hands. Cause us to gain an abiding conviction that “all things are working together for our good” and Your glory. We love You Lord, and we are grateful to be among those called according to Your divine and glorious purpose. We are grateful to be called Your children.
Lord, You are The Sovereign God, and You use all events in time to achieve Your eternal purposes. We pray You keep us ever mindful that we won’t be consumed in the fires of adversity and strife; we won’t drown in the wells of grief and sorrow; and sickness will not last always. We are coming through. In the meantime, we are secure in Your strong and sufficient arms of love and protection. Holy God, we rest in Your peace. Thank You Lord. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen.
