Slow Down Seek The Truth

Proverbs 14:15-16

15 Only simpletons believe everything they’re told! The prudent carefully consider their steps.

16 The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence.

Father God, the one without sound Christly beliefs is tempted to wrongly accept wicked thoughts and will eventually believe them to be reliable and true. He develops into a simpleton who lacks a solid foundation; one who cannot distinguish right from wrong, good from bad, and truth from lie.  He becomes spiritually dangerous to himself and others.

On the other hand, those who walk in Your wisdom make sure of his or her steps, and look to you for direction and approval.  The acceptance of the crowd, the demands of a materialistic culture and the political dictates of the powerful are no longer the measuring rod for the spiritually wise.  Instead, the Bible is our canon, your joy is our strength, and your loyal love provides us sure rest. We rejoice in You the God of our salvation. We seek Your face and Your approval as we walk with You from earth to glory.  And we worship You all the way.

Holy Father, we long to stay away from evil and cling to that which is good and righteous in your sight.  May our decisions bear your mark of holiness, our ears continue to be tuned to your words of truth and our hearts remain fixed on you.  Master, we long for your truth to take root in our lives and blossom.  We want to honor You in all things and in all our ways. Lord, thank You for Your presence in our lives.  Thank You for being our only Wise, True, and Living God.  In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen
