Paid In Full

Luke 23:34

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

Father God, all of us wish there were “do overs” in life; opportunities to erase things we regret. Lord, there are so many ways we failed You and those we love, so many harsh words that should never have been spoken, and too many shameful acts that cause us to lower our heads in shame. Our hearts are sometimes consumed with guilt and riddled with remorse as we recall disgraceful pasts.  

Heavenly Father, whatever are our deepest regrets, You are greater than them all. Today as You unmask the regrettable behaviors that consume us, please call us to repentance and forgive our sins. Then oh Lord, give us courage, humility and grace to receive Your mercy that provides peace and forgiveness to our troubled souls. And cause us to remember that Your blood is sufficient to cover all our sins. The shackles of sin and shame are broken in the lives of the redeemed. Hallelujah!

Today, Holy God, let us not reject Your grace. And may we cease from clinging  to regrets of the past; rather let us humbly bow with hearts of thanksgiving as we embrace the finished work on Calvary’s Cross. With spiritual ears wide-opened, may we hear Jesus say, “Father, forgive them....My child, your heart is free.” Lord, we celebrate  because You are more than enough. And Your sacrificial love covers a multitude of sins. Thank You Jesus.  In HIS Name we pray, Amen.
