Oh GOD, Thank You

Malachi 1:11

11 For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name shall be great among the nations, and in every place frankincense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name shall be great among the nations,” says the Lord of armies.

Heavenly Father, it is easy to forget that we are indebted to You for all that we have, all that we are, and all that we ever will be. Holy God, You are the Author and Sustainer of time. Yet, rather than give you our “prime time,” we sometimes wait until we are too sleepy to stay awake to begin praying. We allow telephone calls and worthless television shows to preempt moments we should devote to You. Our time on social media far exceeds our time with You. Lord, we confess we foolishly take the time and talents You lovingly provide and use them everywhere other than in devotion to You. Lord have mercy.  How short-sighted and ungrateful can we be?

Gracious Father, please forgive us for giving You our “rubbish;”that which is leftover and of little value to us. Forgive us for expecting You to give Your all to us and for us, while we give nothing in return. Master, You protected us in our mothers’ wombs; ensured our delivery into this world; protected us throughout our younger years; allowed us to enter adulthood; and gave us life in Your  Great Name. Lord, You’ve even blessed some of us to enter our senior years.  Despite the many trials and tribulations, we are still here. Hallelujah- we are still here.

God in Heaven, when we consider all that You provide: “How can we say thanks for the things You have done for me us? Things so undeserved yet You gave to prove Your love for me us. The voices of a million angels could not express our gratitude. All that we are and ever hope to be, we owe it all to You.” To You oh Lord, belong glory, honor and the first fruit from all our blessings. Lord Jesus, today we worship You with our entire being; withholding nothing.  We surrender every thought, action, behavior, and desire.  Lord we surrender. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen.
