2 Timothy 1:6-7 6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
Heavenly Father, every day is filled with teaching moments—opportunities to learn more about You, about ourselves, and about the Christian journey we call life. In ordinary encounters, joyful seasons, and moments of deep need, we are given opportunities to respond in a Christlike way. Again and again, we are faced with the question: What would Jesus do?
Merciful Father, when our hearts are torn by grief, our minds are confused by what we cannot understand, and life strikes with a heavy hand, that question still remains. What would Jesus say to critics and naysayers? How would He respond to haters, bad news, and the chaos in the world? Lord, we ask the Holy Spirit to guide us so that in every dilemma we may respond as Jesus would. Our desire is to reflect Him at all times and to live holy lives, because You are holy.
Gracious God, when we walk in the footsteps of Jesus, we find peace even in sorrow. Faith in You makes difficult circumstances possible; love for You makes them beautiful; and prayer makes them achievable. We thank You for grace, wisdom, and patience to endure according to the measure of faith and power You have placed within us—and we humbly ask for more. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
