In All Things Give Thanks

2 CORINTHIANS 5 :7 We live by faith, not by sight.

1 THESSALONIANS 5 :18 Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Heavenly Father, You call us to a life of thankfulness, and You desire that every moment be punctuated with praise. When we criticize or complain, we act as though we could run the world better than You. From our limited human perspective, it may sometimes seem as if things are mismanaged—but we do not know what You know, nor can we see what You see.

Lord, if You were to pull back the curtain and allow us to glimpse the heavenly realms, we would understand so much more. Yet You lovingly designed us to live by faith and not by sight. Our response to Your great love is to honor Your sovereignty by giving thanks in all circumstances and simply trusting You.

You, Lord, are both the source and the foundation of our gratitude. Heaven and earth overflow with Your glorious presence; how can we do anything but give You thanks? Today, help us release negative, angry, or judgmental thoughts, and teach us to continually offer You thanksgiving. Yes, Lord— in all things and in every circumstance, You continue to bless us. And regardless of how chaotic life may appear, You remain in control, working all things together for our good and for Your glory. Gracious God, we trust You and choose to walk with joy—by faith and not by sight. In Jesus’ precious Name we pray and give thanks, Amen.
