Draw Me Nearer

Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Father God, You call those who follow Jesus to live differently from the world—to stand out, not because we’re better, but because we belong to You. Like a light in a dark room, our lives are meant to shine with honesty, kindness, and love. Sometimes it’s hard to do that when the people around us speak harshly or act selfishly, but You’ve given us Your Spirit to equip us to do the right thing. Remind us that the words we speak can either build someone up or tear them down, so help us choose words that heal, not harm.
Lord, it’s easy to let frustration or anger take over—especially when life feels unfair or people push our buttons. But just like a car needs good fuel to run well, our hearts need the right “fuel” too. Help us fill up on Your Word and Your presence so that bitterness, harshness, or gossip can’t take control. Teach us to breathe before we speak, to listen before we react, and to let peace be stronger than pride.
God, make us peacemakers in a noisy, divided world. Help us be the kind of people who bring calm instead of chaos, and hope instead of hate. Whether we’re at work, at home, at church, or just out living life, let others see something different in us—the love and patience of Jesus. Use our words and actions to show who You are and to draw others closer to You. As we draw nearer to You, let us bring others along too. Lord, You are all that we need to live victoriously in this world of confusion and strife. Only Jesus. In Jesus’ name we pray and give thanks, Amen.
