2 Chronicles 20: 12 Our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.
Father God, Biblical History and our own experiences confirm that You work through the prayers of Your people. Prayer enables us to interact with You; while sharing our deepest longings, most nagging pain and lingering concerns. It allows us to give utterance to our greatest fears; hear Your voice of comfort; feel Your presence; and draw from Your strength. Prayer is a time to release our worries to You; and find true rest in Your abiding love. Prayer is our response to Your divine invitation to come boldly to Your throne of grace; where we find Your grace and mercy in our times of need. SO LORD, WE COME.
Merciful Father, we know our prayers don’t change Your mind. Rather, they provide opportunity to align with You in dealing with the troubling aspects of living in this fallen world. During our times of fervent prayer: we find spiritual insights; hear divine direction; receive Your assurances; and we gain courage to “fight on” through life’s difficult seasons. Then we discover Your peace. Then we gain the perfect certainty that we can trust You. Then we know that surely we are safe in Your arms.
Lord, thank You for this vehicle of communication and fellowship called prayer. We can’t imagine life without it. When we feel powerless before the challenges that are coming against us, we keep our eyes are on You! And we prayerfully wait. Prayer makes the darkest cloud withdraw. Lord, thank You for prayer. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
