Psalm 46:10-1110 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
Heavenly Father, teach us to be faithful and still in the seasons when You are not giving special revelation and when no excitement or thrill seems to stir our hearts. These are the days of “ordinary life,” when celebrations have passed, vacations have ended, and no ministry events fill our calendars. The phone is quiet, the house is still, and only routine tasks lie before us.
Lord, You designed us to depend on You moment by moment, even in times of calm and quiet. Help us to be thankful for days when nothing extraordinary appears to be happening, and stir our hearts to seek Your face all the more in such stillness. May we yield our thoughts and intentions to You as we sort the mail, tend the plants, wash the car, and complete each small task entrusted to our hands. Teach us to listen more closely for Your voice, to draw from Your wisdom, and to receive Your power during these gentle, unhurried moments.
Father God, we are richly blessed when we walk trustingly with You through the ordinary rhythms of life. Help us recognize the joy of living continually in Your presence and experience Jesus’ peace in every circumstance—quiet days, demanding days, and all the days in between. As we walk with You, may we grow in grace, gain strength for what lies ahead, and live the abundant, victorious life You promise. Holy God, all our days belong to You; may we use them well. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
