Isaiah 55: 8-9 8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Heavenly Father, You are Creator of all things; so it follows that You are larger, more wise and more majestic than any created thing in heaven and on earth. No person, place or thing is comparable to You. That means there is no event in time or eternity that is beyond Your control. Forgive us we pray, for attempting to reduce You to fit into a small, understandable package of our making. We try predicting the course of time; changing the sequence of life’s events; and questioning You when life proves disappointing. Please forgive our foolishness.
Lord, we confess that any god we create and reduce to fit our mold is not The God of the Bible. And certainly not the One we so desperately need in our time of trouble. The truth is; You are the One and only True and Living God. You are too great and too complex for us to totally understand, and Your dimensions are beyond that which we can measure. Your ways and thoughts are far beyond us. Oh God, please teach us to accept the mysteries of Your greatness and trust You; even when life hurts.
Lord, thank You for the certainty that You are moving on our behalf; even when we can’t imagine the eventual outcome. Thank You for the hope, peace and love that come to those who faithfully follow You. Lord, we trust You and love You with all our hearts. There is none like You. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks, Amen.
