1 John 1: 7-9 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Father God, 2024 was a momentous year for many reasons. It was only by Your love, grace and mercy that we enjoyed the pleasant times and made it through the hours of heart ache, great disappointment, sickness and pain. Lord, we never would have made it without You.
As we negotiate 2025 , please cause us to keep our hearts and minds fixed on You. We pray for reminders that power, money, prestige and other worldly lusts are worth nothing if not obtained through the mercy and love of our rejected Messiah. As we cling to Him, the Spirit produces in us His fruit of “love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. ”He subsequently utilizes our fruit to bless the lives of others. Those impacted are transformed by the power of God; and then produce fruit from their own lives. The process continues through ever-widening circles of love and service.
Lord, You call us to cultivate beautiful lives that advance Your Kingdom purposes; what a blessed privilege it is to be used by You. Father God, today we pray for radiant lives that flourish and blossom throughout our time on this earth. We pray that Your light will shine in and through us, so others may see the fruit, and glorify You in heaven (paraphrase Matt. 5:14–16). “This little light of mine, i’m goin’ to let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine”. All glory and honor belong to You! In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen
