Micah 6:8 And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?
Father God, today we extend Your love to all; including those marred by life’s pains and many difficulties. They are “hurt people.” And sometimes individuals who live in the misery of their sufferings inappropriately hurt others. Hurt people - hurt people. Lord, in Your strength please help us see beyond harsh words and wicked antics. And with Your power let us reject bad behaviors without rejecting the person who is misbehaving.
Holy God, with Your wisdom we recognize that foul tones and cutting remarks are often covers for the great pain existing in the hearts of offenders. Their behaviors may be objectionable, and their wounds may be obscure; but let us look past their faults and see their needs. Give us spiritual strength and maturity to resist the fleshly tendency to respond to evil with evil; thereby becoming a part of the self-perpetuating cycle of wickedness. Lord, give us wisdom and strength.
Today we pray for pure hearts of compassion and discernment. May we follow Jesus’ example and treat all people with love and mercy. Lord, please give us grace to respond to challenging individuals and circumstances according to your will and way. May we stand in Your righteousness; holy and acceptable before You. That is our prayer. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen
