Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Father God, thank You for creating us to fellowship with one another in various teams and groups. You ordain us to be Your children; those working together within Christian families, churches and other social systems. We are unique individuals who come together to achieve the common goal of advancing Your heavenly purposes on earth as it is in heaven. And we are called to help one another along life’s way.
Lord, we serve the world well when we manifest the actions and attitudes of Christ toward them. If one family member, church member or neighbor suffers; all suffer. We are called to share one another’s burdens, pains and cares. As believers in Jesus, we move toward, and not away from one another. Together we can travel into those murky places where we would fear to go alone. Your Word tells us: “two are better than one, for if either of them fall, one can help the other up…”
Gracious Father, even when we are unable to eliminate our neighbor's troubling situations, we can still travel with them. Along the way we remind them that You will never leave or forsake them; and You send us as Your ambassadors of loving support.
Holy God, thank You for blessing us. And thank You for the privilege of being used to bless others. Lord, please make us faithful stewards of Your righteous love and gracious support as we shine Your light in a world that needs to see Jesus. In Jesus Name we pray and give thanks. Amen.
