Matthew 6:9-13 Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Master, each day we look forward to spending time in Your Word, prayer and holy meditation. During the precious moments, we surrender our hearts, bodies, souls and minds to You. Our time is devoted to You as we position ourselves to hear Your voice; feel Your presence; and see life from Your divine and glorious perspective. We begin to marvel as You direct us to the people and things that should take priority in our consideration and planning. You open an orderly, balanced and wholesome path for our day’s journey.
Holy Father, You show us that our lives are not intended to be all work with no rest and no fun. It shouldn’t be all giving with no receiving; or filled with tension with no opportunity to relax. Indeed, there are times when You “lead us beside still waters and restore our souls.” As we plan our days and weeks ahead, please cause us to take care of ourselves by eating well, exercising, resting and laughing often. May we benefit from the medical knowledge that You impart to our doctors by having regular physical checks; following-up on all required diagnostic tests; and taking our medicine as we should. Lord, good medicine and time are Your gifts to us; please let us use them wisely. That is our reasonable act of serving and worshiping You.
Gracious God, may we discover the blessings in life that You ordain. We begin our efforts by submitting to You in prayer; surrendering to Your Word; and meditating on Scriptures day and night. And we do it all for Your glory and the sake of Your Great Name? May we please You in all that we do and say. Thank You Lord. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen
